Aftermarket Service Engineer

Automotive Aftermarket Service Engineer:

We are looking for Automotive Service Engineers with experience in developing automotive service/repair documentation, system circuit information, and/or Flat Rate Time (FRT) calculation.The candidate will be responsible for understanding vehicle service procedures and engineering inputs and converting them into accurate, structured, and user-friendly service information.

Key Responsibilities: 

·       Develop and update Automotive Service Manuals / Driver's Manuals / Repair Manuals based on engineering and technical source information.

·       Understand vehicle service, repair, removal & installation, assembly/disassembly, inspection and maintenance procedures.

·       Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, vehicle data and service information for documentation development.

·       Develop and update technical content with appropriate illustrations and service procedures.

·       Develop/update automotive system circuit / wiring circuit information based on available technical inputs.

·       Handle circuit modifications ranging from wire/color changes to new circuit additions and page-setting changes.

·       Perform Flat Rate Time (FRT) / standard time / repair time studies for vehicle service and repair operations.

·       Calculate and validate standard time, derived/reused time and new/fresh operation time as applicable.

·       Perform repeated time studies where required to establish reliable repair/service operation time.

·       Follow defined customer guidelines, documentation standards and quality requirements.

·       Ensure accuracy, consistency and completeness of technical information before delivery.

·       Coordinate with relevant engineering/customer stakeholders for technical clarifications.

·       Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable customer information-security requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of automotive systems, components and service/repair procedures.
• Experience in Automotive Technical Publications / Service Manual development.
• Ability to understand and interpret technical and engineering information.
• Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, wiring diagrams or system circuits is an advantage.
• Experience or understanding of Flat Rate Time (FRT), Standard Repair Time, Time Study or Labour Time calculation is preferred.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel for recording, calculation and reporting.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Strong attention to quality and technical accuracy.
• Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned deliverables.
