Job Summary:We are looking for a skilled and experienced API Automation Test Engineer to join our QA team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in testing RESTful APIs using automation frameworks and be well-versed in scripting, test design, and CI/CD integration.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for API testing using tools like Postman, Rest Assured, SoapUI, or Karate.
- Write and maintain test cases and test data for REST and SOAP APIs.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and QA engineers to understand business requirements and ensure complete test coverage.
- Integrate test automation with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Execute regression and functional tests and report defects using bug tracking tools like JIRA or Bugzilla.
- Analyze test results and ensure high-quality releases.
- Improve existing frameworks and suggest new testing tools and approaches.
- Perform API mocking and contract testing using tools like WireMock, Swagger, or Pact.
- 5+ years of experience in API testing and automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Python, or JavaScript for scripting.
- Experience with Rest Assured, Postman (with Newman), or Karate DSL.
- Proficient with CI/CD tools and version control systems (Git, Jenkins, GitLab).
- Experience with API documentation tools like Swagger or Postman Collections.
- Good knowledge of HTTP protocol, REST principles, JSON/XML, and OAuth2/JWT authentication.
- Experience in working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience with performance testing of APIs using JMeter or Gatling.
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with BDD frameworks like Cucumber.
