About the role
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor EHS policies, procedures, standards, and safety programs across the plant.
- Conduct regular HIRA, risk assessments, safety inspections, audits, and workplace hazard identification.
- Ensure compliance with applicable EHS legislation, Factory Rules, environmental requirements, fire safety, electrical safety, and other statutory regulations.
- Manage Permit to Work (PTW), LOTO, JSA/JHA, PPE, contractor safety, and safe work practices.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct safety induction, toolbox talks, emergency preparedness training, and periodic safety awareness programs.
- Plan and conduct fire drills, mock drills, emergency response exercises, and maintain emergency preparedness.
- Monitor environmental aspects including waste management, emissions, wastewater, hazardous waste, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate statutory inspections, environmental monitoring, external audits, and liaison with government authorities.
- Maintain EHS records, licenses, registers, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare monthly EHS dashboards and monitor KPIs including incidents, near misses, audit observations, training, and compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce workplace risks and improve EHS performance.
