About the role
Assistant Manager – Purchase from the
Responsibilities- Manage procurement of:
- Plastic Resins (PP, PE, HDPE, LLDPE, PET, etc.)
- Masterbatches & Additives
- Packing Materials (Corrugated Boxes, Stretch Film, Labels, Tapes, etc.)
- Decoration Materials (Sleeves, Labels, Printing & Foils)
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, and annual rate agreements.
- Ensure timely issuance and follow-up of Purchase Orders.
- Responsible for demand planning and procurement planning based on production forecasts.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain optimum stock to avoid production disruption.
- Coordinate with Production, PPC, Stores, and Supply Chain teams for material availability.
- Analyse consumption trends and forecast future material requirements.
- Develop alternate suppliers to mitigate supply risks.
- Evaluate supplier performance on Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Service parameters.
- Conduct supplier audits and periodic reviews.
- Prepare procurement MIS, spend analysis, savings reports, and inventory reports.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and approval workflows.
- Coordinate with Finance for payment issues and vendor reconciliations.
- Education Any Graduate / MBA / Supply Chain qualification preferred.
- Experience 5–7 years of relevant experience in Purchase & Material Planning within Plastic Manufacturing Industry only.
- Relevant Exposure Hands-on experience in procurement of polymers, masterbatches, packaging, and decoration materials.
- Strong knowledge of polymer grades and plastic raw material applications.
- Expertise in material planning, inventory control, and demand forecasting.
- Experience in vendor development and contract negotiations.
- Knowledge of ERP systems.
- Excel and MIS reporting skills.
