1. Strong Organic/Synthetic Chemistry Knowledge
o Excellent understanding of reaction mechanisms, impurity profiling, and route selection.
o Ability to troubleshoot synthetic challenges independently.
2. Process Development Expertise
o Experience in optimizing reaction conditions for yield, purity, cycle time, and cost.
o Good understanding of Design of Experiments (DoE) and process robustness.
3. Scale-Up Experience
o Proven experience in transferring lab processes to pilot plant and commercial scale.
o Understanding of scale-up parameters such as mixing, heat transfer, mass transfer, and safety aspects.
4. Analytical Interpretation Skills
o Ability to interpret HPLC, GC, LCMS, NMR, and other analytical data.
o Capable of identifying root causes of process and quality issues.
5. Process Safety Awareness
o Knowledge of reaction hazard assessment, thermal stability studies, HAZOP, and risk mitigation.
o Experience handling pyrophoric, moisture-sensitive, or hazardous chemicals.

o Able to investigate low yields, impurity formation, equipment-related issues, and process deviations.

o Experience preparing batch manufacturing records, process descriptions, and supporting commercial production.
3. Regulatory and GMP Understanding
o Familiarity with GMP requirements, deviation investigations, CAPA, change controls, and technical documentation.
