About the role
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain scalable REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Design reliable, high-performance backend systems.
- Work with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, and MongoDB.
- Develop event-driven and batch data pipelines.
- Optimise system performance, latency, and reliability.
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and data teams.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong skills in Node.js and/or Python.
- Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis, RabbitMQ/Kafka.
- Good understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and debugging.
- Product company or consumer internet-scale experience preferred.
Good to Have:
- Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, DevOps.
- WebSockets or Server-Sent Events (SSE).
- Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Monitoring tools like Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
