- Validate pre-payroll inputs such as new hires, terminations, transfers, salary changes, bonuses/incentives, overtime, leave impacts, deductions, and one-time payments.
- Review post-payroll outputs to confirm accurate salary disbursements and statutory remittances (e.g., taxes and social contributions).
- Manage off-cycle runs, retro/arrears adjustments, corrections, and country-specific year-end activities (e.g., annual tax reporting and statutory filings).
- Maintain payroll records and support accurate general ledger (GL) postings through payroll accounting reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Leverage Deloitte's Intelligent Payroll platform and automation tools to flag anomalies, reduce manual intervention, and improve first-pass accuracy rates.
- Client Service & SLA Management
- Resolve employee and stakeholder queries via email and ticketing tools, providing clear responses, timely closure, and complete documentation.
- Maintain awareness of client SLA commitments and KPIs (e.g., on-time processing %, query resolution TAT, accuracy rate); escalate risks to the engagement lead proactively.
- Results-oriented performance against payroll quality metrics (e.g., error rates, rework %, on-time payroll delivery %); track record of meeting or exceeding SLA targets.
Compliance, Controls & Governance

- Monitor regulatory updates across assigned countries, evaluate operational impact, and update payroll procedures and documentation to reflect new requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining complete, accurate evidence of controls and processing (approvals, reconciliations, and statutory filings/proof of payment).
- Partner with Compliance and Risk teams to remediate audit observations, implementing corrective and preventive actions through to closure.
- Adhere to established governance and control routines, including segregation of duties, standardized checklists, required signoffs, and issue management.
Projects, Process Improvement & Documentation

- Partner with HR, Finance, Benefits, and Compliance to resolve complex payroll issues and escalations within defined service levels.
- Coordinate with external payroll vendors and, where required, support interactions with local authorities through authorised vendor channels.
