About the role
Department: Production – Machine Shop Reports To: Plant Head / Operations Head
Job Purpose To lead CNC/VMC programming, setup, process development, and production support to meet quality, productivity, delivery, and cost targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop/edit CNC/VMC programs; manage setup, tooling, prove-out, and process parameters.
- Lead NPD, process planning, prototype machining, trials, and sample submission.
- Interpret drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications.
- Optimize cycle time, tool life, productivity, and machining costs.
- Guide operators and coordinate with Quality, PPC, Stores, and Maintenance.
- Coordinate first-piece inspection, process compliance, and corrective actions.
- Maintain programs, setup sheets, tooling records, and production documentation.
- Drive process improvement, machine safety, and 5S.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical, Production, or relevant engineering discipline. Experience: 8–10 years in CNC/VMC programming, setup, process development, and production coordination. Key Skills: CNC/VMC programming, machining process planning, drawing/GD&T, tooling, NPD, production coordination.
