About the role
Job Summary:
We invite applications for a Computer Science teacher to instruct classes 9-11, following the IGCSE curriculum. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical expertise, teaching skills, and the ability to inspire students' interest in Computer Science.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Computer Science to classes 9-11 (IGCSE curriculum)
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans, aligning with IGCSE syllabus
- Assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and coding skills
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve curriculum goals
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences, school events, and extracurricular activities
- Maintain a well-organized, tech-integrated classroom environment
RequirementsRequirements:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 2+ years of teaching experience (IGCSE or equivalent curriculum)
- Strong knowledge of IGCSE Computer Science syllabus (0410/0984)
- Excellent technical expertise in programming languages (e.g., Java, Python)
- Familiarity with educational technology and software development tools
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching certification (e.g., B.Ed., PGCE)
- Experience with international curricula (e.g., IB, AP)
- Familiarity with coding languages (e.g., C++, JavaScript)
- Previous experience in a similar school setting
- Industry experience in software development or IT
