About the role
Job Description and Requirements:
Establish and maintain a comprehensive configuration management system to track software changes and configurations.
Document and version all software components, configurations, and related assets.
Enforce and update configuration standards and policies to ensure consistency across environments.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate software releases to minimize disruptions and downtime.
Define release strategies, schedules, and dependencies in collaboration with development teams.
Monitor and oversee the entire release process, promptly addressing issues to ensure successful releases.
Maintain detailed release documentation, including release notes and version history.
Manage version control systems (e.g., Git) to track changes to source code and other software assets.
Handle branching, merging, and conflict resolution to maintain code integrity.
Implement and enforce version control best practices within the organization.
Develop and maintain automated deployment scripts and tools to streamline the release process.
Implement and optimize continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration with infrastructure automation.
Collaborate closely with QA teams to incorporate comprehensive testing and validation into the release process.
Coordinate with developers to address and resolve issues identified during testing.
Ensure that only approved and thoroughly tested software versions are released to production.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with software releases and configurations.
Develop and maintain backup and rollback plans to minimize the impact of release failures or issues.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of release and configuration processes.
Generate reports on release status, performance, and metrics for management and stakeholders.
Qualifications
• Proven experience as a Release Engineer, leading the design and implementation of complex and scalable infrastructures.
• Proficiency in version control systems such as Git, SVN,
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins
• Basic Familiarity with Java
• Basic Understanding of Java Programming
• Scripting and automation skills using languages like Shell, Python, or Ruby,Gradle.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and container orchestration.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
• Ability to work with various operating systems (Windows, Linux).
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
