About the role
This role is to render engineering support to Chassis and Equipment team (CSETA / CVDE) for Volvo Trucks Value truck markets and Development Center -CSETA.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include
· Design of chassis equipment components and installations
· Design of casting and sheet metal components
· Design of Sheet metal Complex brackets
· Work closely internal engineers and supplier for development components.
· Engineering documentation of drawings and specifications.
· Product Documentation of solutions
· Hands on work experience in similar automotive- chassis equipment domain preferred
· Experience in heavy commercial vehicle industry will be an added advantage
· Good knowledge of application of GD&T
· Strong knowledge on the Creo part modelling, assembly, detailing must.
· Basic understanding of FEA and awareness on the interpretation of FEA report.
The key personal skills for this role are:
· Good knowledge on design of sheet metal brackets and casting component design.
· Design and installation of exhaust pipes
· Extensive hands on experience in Creo (wf4.0 & above) / Creo and PDM softwares is mandatory
· Exposure to vehicle packaging and DMU mock up - Creo View is required
· Design and installation of different mechanical components on chassis
· Familiar to different types of truck/automotive aggregates preferred
· Strong in engineering fundamentals and its applications
· Good networking and interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication.
· Good team player and contributor in Cross Functional Teams
· Prior exposure to Volvo unique systems like KOLA will be an added advantage
