Summary:
Sony is seeking a Data Analyst to join the Global Security Incident Response Team (GSIRT) in Bangalore,
India. This position will support the Director, Security Operations Center (SOC) and will be part of a team
responsible for oversight, measurement, quality assurance, and reporting related to GSIRT’s mission to
protect Sony by minimizing the frequency and impact of cyber incidents. The Data Analysis team is
responsible for reviewing GSIRT’s vast data stores to identify threat trends and to drive performance
improvements for the GSIRT.
Position Responsibilities:
Develop and monitor metrics to oversee GSIRT performance across the various teams, including
long-term trending, to inform GSIRT leadership about overall and individual performance
Develop and analyze reporting based on SOC case work and security log data to inform GSIRT and
Sony about cyber threats and risks
Perform qualitative analysis of SOC ticket data to identify opportunities for improvement of GSIRT
operations or Sony’s defensive posture
Provide metric and reporting support to other security teams, as needed

PowerBi, Python, SQL, automation, reporting, Splunk
Job Qualifications:
Experience : 2-6 years
A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mathematics, Data Analytics, Information Security, or Information
technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Ability to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Ability to identify, understand, and articulate inconsistencies, gaps, or other limitations of data sets
that may impact analysis
Ability to work on multiple projects, with strong ability to adapt to dynamic work environment and to
prioritize tasks accordingly.
Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team

Experience or exposure to incident response practices
Experience with Splunk
