Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced DBA Admin to lead the migration of our databases from Oracle to PostgreSQL. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a seamless transition, minimizing downtime, and optimizing database performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the migration of Oracle databases to PostgreSQL
- Assess database compatibility and identify potential migration challenges
- Develop and execute a comprehensive migration plan
- Configure and optimize PostgreSQL databases for performance and security
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues during and after migration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth transition
- Develop and maintain documentation for database migration and management
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in database administration (DBA)
- Strong experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
- Experience with database migration and upgrade projects
- In-depth knowledge of database design, development, and performance tuning
- Strong understanding of database security and compliance
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Database)
- Knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Certification in Oracle and/or PostgreSQL database administration
- Experience with agile development methodologies
