KRA No.Key Responsibility AreaKey Responsibilities1Fire Protection System MaintenanceEnsure serviceability and operational readiness of all fire protection systems and emergency equipment, including fire pumps, hydrant networks, sprinkler systems, extinguishers, hose reels, foam systems, fire alarms, and rescue equipment. Plan and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities.2Emergency Preparedness & ResponseAct as an Emergency Response Team (ERT) Leader during emergencies. Coordinate firefighting, rescue, evacuation, and incident control activities. Conduct emergency drills and mock exercises and ensure emergency response plans are updated and effectively communicated.3Statutory & IMS ComplianceEnsure compliance with applicable statutory and organizational requirements, including the Factories Act, State Fire Service requirements, PESO requirements where applicable, NBC, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, IMS, and company Fire & Safety standards. Support audits and ensure timely closure of observations.4Documentation & MIS ReportingMaintain records of fire equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, emergency response activities, fire drills, incident investigations, fire pump testing, extinguisher servicing, and compliance registers. Prepare monthly MIS and statutory reports.5Training & Competency DevelopmentConduct fire safety awareness programmes for employees and contractors. Organize ERT training and refresher programmes on firefighting equipment, emergency response, and rescue techniques. Evaluate and support competency development of team members.6Fire Safety Inspection & Risk AssessmentConduct regular fire safety inspections across the plant. Identify fire hazards and recommend corrective actions. Participate in HIRA, risk assessments, safety audits, fire load assessments, and ensure required housekeeping standards are maintained.7Fire Pump Health MonitoringConduct routine testing and health monitoring of Main, Jockey, and Diesel Engine Fire Pumps. Monitor pressure, flow, fuel availability, and other operational parameters. Maintain testing records and coordinate repairs whenever required.8Incident Investigation & CAPAParticipate in the investigation of fire incidents and near misses. Support root cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Monitor the implementation and closure of identified actions.9Team Leadership & Manpower ManagementSupervise fire crew and contract manpower. Allocate daily responsibilities and monitor discipline, PPE compliance, and adherence to safe work practices. Mentor and develop team members to strengthen operational capability.
