What awaits you/ Job Profile At BMWTechWorks India, you will be part of the innovative Cluster Digital Product Engineering, driving the development of vital components for BMW’s next-generation electric vehicles. The Design of all components for the DC-DC Converter Module and its Mechanical parts inside the DC-DC converter (Housing and Metal). This will need the knowledge of Designing the High Pressure Die Casting and Sheet Metal Brackets, also some Plastic parts in few cases. This includes mounting and retention components as well as peripheral parts made from steel, aluminum, plastics and elastomers. We are responsible for the Technical and administrative management of the parts: Technical management includes development and designing from sketch to series part including testing and validation Administrative management includes release process, supplier management and internal BMW system service. Must have technical skill Proficient in CAD, especially CATIA V5/3D, for 2D and 3D construction including array and subcomponents, board outlines, folding/bending, panelization, and technical drawing. Knowledge of DIN ISO 16742 (plastic molding) and DIN ISO 2768 (metal punching) standards. Experience with Designing of DC-DC Converter housing, including the components. Familiarity with FMK (Functional Tolerance Chain Analysis) to ensure component precision and function. Packaging studies and clearance requirements with surrounding parts. DFMEA knowledge. Mounting Proposals and Assembly studies. Good to have technical skills Previous experience in automotive DC-DC Converter systems. Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality assurance in automotive component production ( HPDC and Metal forming) Ability to identify cost-saving potentials without compromising safety and quality.
