Job Description:
Job Title: Development Engineer – Plastic Molding
Criteria:
Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering
Minimum 2 years of experience in the plastic tool designing industry
Responsibilities:
Knowledge of moulding tool/part designing and manufacturing processes
Hands-on expertise in machine operations and process parameters
Proficiency in SolidWorks, ProgeCAD, and other design software
Ability to perform tolerance stack-up analysis and interpret GD&T
Review drawings, analyze feasibility, and prepare BOM to develop/optimize tooling & part specifications
Prepare Design for Manufacturing (DFM) documentation
Coordinate with vendors to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery of tooling components
Utilize problem-solving techniques and quality tools to address design challenges
Support first-article inspections, prototyping, and PPAP events in the design lifecycle
Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office programs
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
