About the role
The core responsibilities for the job include the following:
Infrastructure and Cloud Engineering:
- Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP / Azure).
- Architect and maintain highly available, fault-tolerant systems.
- Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
Containerization and Orchestration:
- Manage and optimize Kubernetes (K8s) clusters in production environments.
- Improve container orchestration, deployment patterns, and cluster reliability.
CI/CD and Deployment Automation:
- Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines for faster, reliable releases.
- Implement deployment automation using tools such as Spinnaker or similar.
- Ensure zero-downtime deployments and rollback strategies.
Programming and Automation:
- Develop automation scripts and tooling using Python.
- Improve system reliability through automation and operational tooling.
Monitoring, Reliability, and SLA Management:
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks.
- Define and maintain SLA/SLO objectives to ensure system availability.
- Lead incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and system improvements.
Linux and Systems Engineering:
- Administer and troubleshoot Linux/Unix-based systems in production.
- Optimize performance, networking, and security configurations.
Security and Compliance (Good to Have):
- Partner with Infosec to implement infrastructure security best practices.
- Support compliance initiatives and security hardening efforts.
Requirements:
- 6-10+ years of overall experience in DevOps / Cloud Engineering.
- Proven experience working in production-scale environments.
- Ability to independently design and own infrastructure components.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
Must Have:
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s).
- Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Deep experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
- Strong Linux/Unix system expertise.
Should Have:
- Experience with deployment tools such as Spinnaker.
- Experience implementing monitoring and alerting systems.
- Strong understanding of SLA, SLO, and high-availability architecture.
Could Have:
- Exposure to security best practices in cloud environments.
- Experience working with compliance frameworks.
