About the role
We are looking for a Director - Data Engineering to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale Data Platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in Python, Spark, ETL, and GCP, with proven experience in building and scaling an end-to-end data platform from scratch.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture, development, and evolution of large-scale data platforms on GCP.
- Build and optimise scalable ETL pipelines using Python and Spark.
- Define the data platform strategy, architecture, and engineering best practices.
- Drive cloud-native data solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Lead and mentor high-performing data engineering teams.
- Collaborate with product, analytics, and business stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.
Requirements:
- 15-18 years of experience in data engineering and platform development.
- Strong expertise in Python, Spark, ETL, and GCP (Mandatory).
- Proven experience in building an enterprise data platform on GCP from the ground up.
- Deep understanding of distributed data processing, cloud architecture, and modern data platforms.
- Experience leading large engineering teams in a product-based environment.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and architectural decision-making skills.
