About the role
The Duck Creek Insights Database Developer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing the Duck Creek Insights data platform, reporting databases, ETL processes, data models, and analytics solutions. The role supports reporting, operational intelligence, regulatory reporting, and business analytics across Duck Creek Policy, Billing, Claims, and related insurance systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesData & Database Management
- Design and maintain Duck Creek Insights databases and data warehouses.
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL Server databases.
- Create and maintain database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and indexes.
- Implement database performance tuning and optimization.
- Monitor database health, storage utilization, and query performance.
- Design and develop ETL/ELT solutions for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Build and support data feeds from:
- Duck Creek Policy
- Duck Creek Billing
- Duck Creek Claims
- Third-party systems
- Ensure data integrity and reconciliation across source and target systems.
- Build operational and executive reports.
- Develop dashboards and KPI reporting solutions.
- Support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
- Validate reporting outputs and business calculations.
- Assist business users with ad-hoc reporting requirements.
- Maintain Insights data models and metadata.
- Support job execution, scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Manage batch processes and report generation.
- Participate in Insights upgrades, migrations, and production support.
- Define data validation and reconciliation processes.
- Implement data quality controls.
- Support audit, compliance, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Work with Business Analysts and SMEs to understand reporting requirements.
- Translate business requirements into data models and technical specifications.
- Estimate and implement reporting enhancements.
