About the role
Responsibilities:
- Own and drive the technical roadmap for the Data Engineering team, planning and delivering each quarter.
- Execute product plans and manage delivery commitments with a strong focus on quality and timelines.
- Architect and build scalable backend systems, data pipelines, and infrastructure components aligned with 12-factor app principles.
- Design and implement robust data warehouses and data strategies for SaaS products.
- Define clear quarterly goals for the team and guide execution to achieve measurable outcomes.
- Mentor engineers and help them deliver to the best of their abilities.
- Set clear career paths for team members and support their professional growth.
- Lead technical discussions and help engineers make critical architectural and design decisions.
- Partner closely with the Product team to develop and curate the data and platform roadmap.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of software development experience with 2+ years of engineering leadership experience.
- Strong architecture and system design skills with experience building large-scale web services.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing backend systems, data pipelines, and infrastructure components.
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, especially AWS.
- Experience designing and building data warehouses.
- Experience in defining and executing a Data Strategy for SaaS products.
- Strong technical leadership with the ability to drive critical technical discussions.
