About the role

## What you’ll do:

The Engineer - Industrial Automation will support the assessment, design, development, integration and commissioning of industrial automation solutions across manufacturing operations. The role combines hands-on knowledge of robotics, mechanical automation, controls, vision, material handling and industrial connectivity to improve productivity, quality, safety and equipment reliability. The engineer will work with cross-functional teams, equipment suppliers and system integrators to deliver scalable automation solutions from concept through FAT, SAT, ramp-up and handover.

"• Assess manufacturing processes and benchmark robotics, cobots, automated material handling (AGV/AMR), automated storage, machine vision and flexible automation cells.

  • Analyze workflows and identify automation opportunities that improve throughput, quality, safety and equipment utilization while reducing manual effort and downtime.
  • Translate operational needs into user requirements, technical specifications, cell concepts, layouts, mechanical designs, control requirements and equipment connectivity/data requirements.
  • Support end-to-end automation project execution covering concept development, design reviews, supplier coordination, build, integration, pre-FAT, FAT, SAT, commissioning, ramp-up and handover.
  • Develop and validate mechanical automation elements, including robot cells, end-of-arm tooling, fixtures, conveyors, part nests, sensor and actuator integration, guarding and safety interlocks.
  • Support robot, PLC, HMI/SCADA, motion-control and vision-system integration, programming, troubleshooting and cycle-time optimization.
  • Perform offline simulation and validation for reach, collision, cycle time, layout and tooling feasibility, as applicable.
  • Support integration of automation equipment with industrial networks, IIoT platforms, MES and data-acquisition systems for work-order, routing, traceability, quality and performance data.
  • Prepare and maintain schematics, specifications, standard operating procedures, validation protocols, commissioning checklists, code documentation and training material.
  • Ensure automation solutions comply with applicable machine-safety, risk-assessment, electrical and industrial standards, including LOTO and required documentation.
  • Collaborate with plants, cross-functional engineering teams, equipment suppliers and system integrators to achieve safe, timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Evaluate emerging automation technologies, develop proof-of-concept demonstrators and contribute to reusable standards, templates and lessons learned for deployment across plants."

## Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline. 3+ years of industrial experience in the development, integration or commissioning of manufacturing automation solutions.

## Skills:

  • "• Practical knowledge of industrial automation project lifecycle from requirements and concept development through design, build, FAT/SAT, commissioning and handover.
  • Experience assessing automation applications for assembly, material handling, wiring, inspection, labeling, torqueing and end-of-line testing processes.
  • Knowledge of robotics and cobots from suppliers such as FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Universal Robots, Yaskawa, Omron/TM or equivalent, including frames, tooling, safe zones and basic programming/troubleshooting.
