About the role
● Team & POD Leadership: Lead one or more engineering teams/PODs; set clear goals and ownership, coach engineers and technical leads, and foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and collaboration. ● People Management: Drive hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, career development, and succession planning; manage team capacity in partnership with organizational leadership. ● Delivery Planning & Execution: Translate product roadmaps into engineering plans, estimates, milestones, and release commitments; proactively manage risks, dependencies, and blockers to deliver predictably. ● Engineering Excellence: Establish and uphold consistent practices for design reviews, code reviews, testing, documentation, and maintainability; manage technical debt deliberately. ● Quality & Release Management: Coordinate development, QA, test automation, and security testing through to release readiness; ensure the agreed Definition of Done and release criteria are met. ● Security & Reliability: Partner with security, architecture, and operations teams to embed security-by-design, timely vulnerability remediation, observability, resilience, and production readiness. ● CI/CD & DevSecOps: Drive effective use of CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and cloud-native deployment practices to improve delivery speed and reliability. ● AI-Assisted Engineering: Champion responsible use of AI-assisted engineering tools; define team practices for reviewing and validating AI-generated code, and measure their impact on productivity without compromising security or quality. ● Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Product Owners, architects, QA, DevOps, security specialists, and implementation partners to align priorities, resolve issues, and communicate decisions and trade-offs. ● Metrics & Reporting: Track and report delivery predictability, throughput, quality trends, escaped defects, technical debt, and team capacity; use these insights to drive improvement. ● Open-source Community: Engage the global MOSIP contributor community through knowledge sharing, clear documentation, and collaborative development.
