ETL Data Tester

We are seeking a highly skilled ETL Data Tester with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in ETL data validation and testing across Hadoop and Teradata/Informatica environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in SQL and HQL for data validation and be familiar with Python development. Experience in test automation frameworks is a strong plus.

• Design, develop, and execute ETL test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation between source and target systems across Hadoop, Teradata, and Informatica ETL pipelines.
• Write and execute complex SQL and HQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
• Collaborate with ETL developers, data engineers, and business analysts to ensure data quality and completeness.
• Participate in data profiling to identify data anomalies and quality issues.
• Leverage Python scripting to support test automation, data manipulation, or pipeline validations.
• Log, track, and follow up on defects and their resolution using standard defect management tools.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of automation frameworks for regression and smoke testing.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and data quality standards.

• Minimum 5 years of ETL data testing experience.
• Strong experience with Hadoop ecosystem (Hive, HDFS, etc.).
• Proficient in Teradata and/or Informatica ETL platforms.
• Expert in SQL and HQL – ability to write and optimize complex queries.
• Working knowledge of Python for scripting and test support.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and data lakes.
• Exposure to test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, PyTest, or custom frameworks) is an advantage.
• Good understanding of Agile methodologies and test lifecycle processes.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with Big Data testing tools (e.g., Apache Nifi, Airflow, or similar).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP for data pipelines.
• Certification in ISTQB or other testing certifications is a plus.
