About the role
A Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer is responsible for ensuring that software products meet quality standards before release. The role involves designing and executing test plans, identifying bugs, documenting defects, and working closely with developers and product teams to improve software reliability and performance. QA Engineers perform manual and automated testing of web, mobile, and desktop applications to verify functionality, usability, security, and compatibility across different environments. They analyze requirements, create test cases, track issues using bug-tracking tools, and help maintain testing frameworks and processes. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, knowledge of software development life cycles (SDLC), and familiarity with testing tools such as Selenium, JIRA, or TestNG are commonly required. QA Engineers also collaborate in agile development environments to ensure continuous improvement and high-quality user experiences.
