The main duties of a doctor include examining patients, assessing their medical conditions, prescribing medications, recommending appropriate treatments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, monitoring patients’ progress, and maintaining accurate medical records. Doctors also educate patients about disease prevention, healthy lifestyles, and proper medication use. They collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care, respond to medical emergencies, and refer patients to specialists when necessary. A doctor must maintain patient confidentiality, follow medical ethics and healthcare regulations, and demonstrate strong communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. The primary objective of a doctor is to provide safe, effective, and compassionate medical care to improve patients’ health and quality of life.
