About the role

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Expert in problem solving, torque calculations, Joint validations, related issues & torque specification releases

· Capability to validate thread joints & fasteners which are locally sourced and developed.

· Ensure and follow fastener related activities for the car (BIW, powertrain, chassis, Interiors and E&E) especially on car and PWT projects developed.

· Decision making during shortages and identification & validation of alternates.

· Define and select fasteners for applications/parts and create a validation plan

· Follow-up with supplier and support suppliers to complete approval process and industrialization within project timeline

· Supplier process audit at suppliers’ facility

· Knowledge on materials, heat treatment, coating, plating and corrosion requirements for the fasteners.

· Good knowledge on Tightening strategies & deployments / releases, torque validation methods and tools.

· Good knowledge on the process and production steps to understand the quality requirements

· Good knowledge on regulations on the restricted elements in the materials

· Extend support in plant for any material development or failure analysis, visit to plant as and when required for co-ordination and support

· Support plant relevant issues on fatteners

· Deal with quality issues coming from vehicles projects or serial cars

· Knowledge of testing methods and exposure to international test procedures

· Good knowledge on co-dep,Team-centre, PLM, drawing release, CTE validations

· Know-how on Benchmarking in India

Education:

B.E. / M.Tech – Metallurgy, Mechanical engineering,Material Science Engineering

Experience

Essential:

· 5 to 8 years of experience in relevant industry & department

· Good knowledge especially in Metallurgy and materials

Specific Skill Requirement

· Good contacts with Tier I, fasteners suppliers and raw material suppliers

· Tightening calculations using Cobra tool.

· Knowledge on software tools like PLM, CATIA, etc.,

· Knowledge on fasteners surface treatments and COF requirements.

· Knowledge on Torque to failure, COF, and other fastener related testings.

· Different types of issues and root cause analysis

· Knowledge of fastener types/classes, material grades & basics about their compositions

· Excellent MS Power Point (presentation) skills

· Good communication skills, inter-cultural communications with global teams

· Organized, autonomous to set priorities & being pro-active

· Result driven, quick to act

· Good interpersonal skills, able to adapt, & work in CFT

· Willingness to learn foreign languages
