Join The Estée Lauder Companies in Mumbai, partnering with HR, Payroll, Finance and Tax teams to manage employee costs, deliver accurate reporting and strengthen financial controls.
What you’ll do
- Budgeting and analysis: Prepare employee cost budgets covering salaries, bonuses, benefits and employee provisions. Track monthly costs against budget and prior year, providing clear explanations of variances.
- Accounting and accruals: Manage monthly employee cost accounting, including provident fund, gratuity, leave encashment and other provisions, ensuring accurate accruals and timely reversals.
- Payroll tax and compliance: Manage salary TDS compliance, reconciliations, Form 24Q and Form 16, alongside Provident Fund, Professional Tax and other applicable employee-related statutory requirements.
- Notices and assessments: Coordinate responses to PF, Professional Tax, TDS and GST notices, working with government authorities and external consultants to ensure timely resolution.
- Payroll reconciliations: Reconcile payroll reports and salary registers with accounting entries and the General Ledger, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Controls and improvement: Strengthen payroll and employee cost controls, streamline processes and identify opportunities for automation.
## Qualifications
What you’ll bring
- Experience in employee cost budgeting, payroll accounting and reconciliations.
- Strong working knowledge of Indian payroll tax and employee-related statutory compliance.
- Attention to detail and the ability to translate financial data into clear insights.
- Confidence coordinating across teams and working with external consultants and authorities.
- A practical approach to improving processes and managing monthly deadlines.
