About the role
Assist the Flexo Printing Operator in setting up, operating, and maintaining flexographic printing machines to ensure high-quality printing, maximum productivity, and minimum wastage while following safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in machine setup, job changeovers, and production preparation.
- Mount printing plates, anilox rollers, doctor blades, and cylinders as instructed.
- Load substrates such as labels, paper, film, and other materials into the machine.
- Prepare and supply inks, solvents, and consumables for production.
- Monitor print quality, colour consistency, registration, and defects during production.
- Support the operator in maintaining machine speed and production targets.
- Help perform cleaning of printing units, ink trays, rollers, and machine components.
- Maintain housekeeping around the press and work area.
- Assist in troubleshooting minor machine issues and report major problems to the operator or supervisor.
- Record production data, wastage, downtime, and material consumption.
- Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of flexographic printing processes.
- Understanding of inks, substrates, and printing materials.
- Ability to identify print defects and quality issues.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine operations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in shifts and under production deadlines.
- Experience in operating or assisting on Mark Andy, Gallus, Nilpeter, Omet, MPS, or other narrow-web/wide-web flexographic printing machines.
Qualifications:
- Diploma / ITI / Any Technical Qualification preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in Flexographic Printing, Label Printing, or Packaging Printing.
- Freshers with relevant technical training may also be considered.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Capable of lifting printing materials and machine components.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with moving machinery.
