About the role
We are building a next-gen B2B SaaS platform in the financial-services domain (mutual funds). Our product engineering team focuses on domain modelling, operational compliance and feature development. We are now looking for an Engineering Leader who will own the non-functional pillars of the platform - security, performance, reliability, automation, observability, and engineering culture. This is a hands-on technical leadership role, reporting to the CTO/Founder and responsible for making our platform robust, compliant, performant, scalable, and secure.
Responsibilities:
- Own the non-functional architecture - security, performance, scalability, availability, resilience.
- Define and implement observability and monitoring frameworks (APM, logging, alerting, SLOs).
- Drive performance engineering - profiling, load testing, capacity planning, and optimisation.
- Champion engineering culture - coding standards, documentation norms, design reviews, and technical excellence rituals.
- Build and lead the QA and automation strategy, including automated regression, performance testing, and CI/CD quality gates.
- Act as a technical ambassador with customers, demonstrating platform scalability, security, and reliability, and participating in due-diligence or technical evaluation discussions.
- Partner with product engineering leads to ensure features meet rigorous non- functional requirements.
- Mentor engineers on best practices and elevate overall engineering maturity.
Requirements:
- 10+ years in software engineering, with deep expertise in security, SRE, QA automation, DevOps, or platform engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of cloud-native architecture, microservices (in Java, golang, Ruby, nodejs, reactjs stacks), and distributed systems.
- Proven experience implementing security, performance, and reliability frameworks in a SaaS product.
- Experience in FinTech/RegTech/Financial Services is a strong plus.
- Hands-on ability to debug, profile, harden, and optimise systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
