Profile Summary:
The Import Executive will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of import-related operations within the company. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in handling import documentation, coordinating with agents and carriers, filing IGM, managing financial records, and ensuring timely closure of jobs. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential for this role, along with a keen understanding of customs clearance and logistics processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordination with Agents
· Follow up with agents to receive the Shipping Order (SO) at agreed rates and vessel schedules.
· Ensure timely receipt of pre-alerts from agents.
2. Documentation & Compliance
· Ensure timely Import General Manifest (IGM) filing for both sea and air shipments.
· Coordinate with the Customs House Agent (CHA) and Carrier for Delivery Order (DO) release.
3. Financial Coordination
· Cross-department follow-up with the accounts team to maintain a proper payment track record with agents.
· Ensure all financial transactions related to shipments are well-documented.
4. Invoicing & Job Closure
· Raise invoices to customers accurately and ensure all jobs are closed properly.
5. Reporting & MIS
· Provide periodic Management Information System (MIS) reports to the manager within the defined time frame.
Requirements:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
· Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in Import Documentation & Operations.
· Knowledge: Understanding of shipping, customs clearance, and logistics processes.
· Skills: Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with MS Office, shipping & logistics software is a plus.
