Responsibilities:
A typical Databricks Developer / Lead Job Description (JD) centers on designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and big data solutions using Apache Spark and the Databricks Data + AI Platform.
- Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain robust batch and streaming ETL data pipelines using PySpark, Spark SQL, and Delta Lake.
- Platform Optimization: Optimize Spark jobs, cluster configurations, and queries for maximum performance and cost efficiency on cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Data Governance & Security: Implement access controls, data lineage, and governance models utilizing Unity Catalog.
- Collaboration & Integration: Work alongside data scientists, machine learning engineers, and analysts to productionize ML models (using MLflow) and analytics dashboards.
- CI/CD & Deployment: Automate deployment workflows and manage code version control (Git) integrated with Databricks Repos and Workflows.
