Position: Instrumentation Engineer + COMOS

Year of Exp: 3+ years

Location: Pune

Roles & Responsibilities:

Seeking an experienced COMOS and Instrumentation Engineer to perform basic and detailed engineering activities for process, industrial automation and manufacturing projects. The role includes engineering database management in Siemens COMOS, instrumentation design, electrical documentation, engineering deliverables, and multidisciplinary engineering coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Execute instrumentation basic and detailed engineering activities using Siemens COMOS.
Prepare and maintain instrument index, I/O list, cable schedule, JB schedule, loop diagrams and wiring drawings.
Prepare hook-up drawings, instrument datasheets, specification sheets and material requisitions.
Generate and manage engineering deliverables and BOMs.
Create and maintain control system architecture documents, PLC/SCADA interface documentation and cause & effect matrices.
Support field instrument selection and sizing including pressure, temperature, flow and level instruments.
Perform engineering quality checks and ensure compliance with IEC, ISA and customer standards.
Support brownfield migration, as-built documentation updates, and document conversion projects.

Instrumentation Engineering Skills (Mandatory):

Instrument Index, I/O List and Loop Diagram preparation.
P&ID review and extraction of instrumentation data.
Instrument datasheets and technical specifications preparation.
Cable block diagrams, cable schedules, and JB design.
Control valve, on/off valve, and field instrumentation documentation.
Cause & Effect Matrix, Alarm List and Interlock documentation.
Knowledge of fieldbus and industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, ProfiNet and Ethernet/IP.
Knowledge of hazardous area classification and intrinsic safety concepts is preferred.

COMOS & Detailed Engineering Skills:

Hands-on experience with Siemens COMOS V10.x or higher.
Creation and maintenance of engineering objects, attributes, libraries, and templates in COMOS.
Engineering data migration, document management, and revision control.
Hardware and I/O upgrades, engineering change management, and quality validation in COMOS.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical or related Engineering discipline.
3 to 8+ years of relevant experience in COMOS and instrumentation engineering.
Experience in Industrial Automation, Process Plants, Paper Industry, Water Treatment, Power, Oil & Gas or Manufacturing industries.
