About the role

Job Responsibilities

  • Write and maintain automated tests for Next.js portal features and NestJS, Python or Go services using appropriate frameworks such as Playwright, Jest, pytest or Go test.
  • Build API tests covering request and response validation, authentication, error handling and schemas.
  • Convert repeatable manual regression checks into maintainable automation.
  • Review user stories and acceptance criteria to identify test scenarios, boundary cases and test data.
  • Execute functional, regression and smoke tests across development, staging and production-like environments.
  • Report defects with clear reproduction steps, expected and actual results, logs and screenshots. Work with developers to investigate issues, verify fixes and track defects through closure.
  • Help integrate test suites into Jenkins or GitHub Actions pipelines. Inspect application and pipeline logs to distinguish product defects from problems with test data, automation or environments.
  • With DevOps support, prepare test environments on Linux VMs, Docker containers and cloud instances. Validate provisioning workflows for compute, networks, storage, Kubernetes clusters and GPU instances through the UI and APIs.
  • Assist with basic load and performance checks using tools such as k6, Locust or JMeter. Check connectivity, DNS, firewall and load-balancer behavior in end-to-end scenarios and report findings.
  • Participate in test-code reviews, sprint discussions and release readiness reviews. Maintain test plans, automation instructions and coverage reports, and complete assigned learning tasks.

Skills

  • Hands-on Node.js development using JavaScript or TypeScript, including npm, async/await and Jest or a similar test framework; experience building or testing a NestJS or Next.js application.
  • Working knowledge of Python or Go for backend and API testing, plus basic Bash or Python scripting to prepare data, run tests or inspect logs.
  • Programming fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented concepts, debugging and readable code. Familiarity with Git branches, pull requests and code reviews.
  • Testing fundamentals: test-case design, boundary and negative testing, smoke and regression testing, and the defect lifecycle. Exposure to a tool such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress or Postman.
  • Working knowledge of Linux, HTTP/HTTPS, REST, DNS, ports and firewalls; ability to use curl or browser developer tools. Basic understanding of Docker, CI and cloud infrastructure concepts.
  • Attention to detail, systematic problem-solving and clear written communication. Academic or project-level experience is sufficient; production experience is not required.
  • A public code portfolio demonstrating automated tests, clear setup instructions and maintainable test code.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, cloud provisioning, load testing or test execution in Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
  • ISTQB Foundation Level, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Linux Essentials or Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate certification. Certifications are optional.

Qualifications

  • B.Tech degree in Computer Science (CS), Information Technology (IT), or Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE).
  • 0–1 year of experience.
