About the role
Back End
Responsibilities:
1. Software Development:
- Design, implement, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and reliable
Java-based backend systems.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with
server-side logic.
- Encode, test, debug, and document complex software programs and applications.
2. Software Maintenance:
- Review, analyse, troubleshoot, and modify both core and customised software
components.
- Ensure code quality, security, and maintainability through continuous
integration and automated
testing.
3. Database Management:
- Develop and optimize database schemas and queries, with a strong emphasis on
performance.
- Ensure data security, integrity, and proper access controls.
4. API Development:
- Design and implement RESTful APIs to support various client applications. -
Integrate third-party APIs and services as needed.
5. Code Quality and Testing:
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Conduct thorough testing of developed functionalities, including unit testing
and integration testing.
Microservices Architecture:
- Implement Microservices architecture using Spring Boot for seamless scaling
and fault tolerance.
7. Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers,
UX/UI designers, and product managers, to deliver high-quality software
solutions.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and adherence to coding
standards.
8. Performance Optimization:
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the application.
- Continuously optimize and improve existing systems for better efficiency.
9. Security and Compliance:
- Implement security best practices to safeguard sensitive data.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
10. Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for code, APIs, and system architecture.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related
field.
- Proven experience as a full stack (Front end /Java Back End Developer.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, and related technologies.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and ORM
frameworks.
- Knowledge of web services and API development (RESTful).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with JIRA or similar project management software
- Familiarity with microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker,
Kubernetes).
- Understanding of continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes.
