Position Title: Java Full Stack Developer - Senior Experience Required: 4 to 5 years Position Type: Full-time POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking an experienced Java Full Stack Developer with 4 to 5 years of professional experience to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will independently develop error-free, high-quality applications, mentor junior developers, and support the technical lead in architectural and design decisions. This role requires a strong foundation in Java technologies with expertise in modern development practices, frontend frameworks, and a commitment to code excellence and enterprise application development. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Application Design & Development: Understand and provide input to application/feature/component designs; develop solutions in accordance with user stories and requirements. Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Java, React, Angular, Servlets, JSP, and Struts Framework. 2. Code Quality & Testing: Code, debug, test, document and communicate product/component/features at development stages with focus on error-free, high-quality validation. Create and review unit test cases with comprehensive coverage. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code for both server-side and client-side applications. 3. Technical Decision Making: Select appropriate technical options for development such as reusing, improving or reconfiguring existing components to optimize efficiency, cost and quality. Develop RESTful APIs and integrate them with front-end applications. Ensure high performance, security, and reliability of enterprise web applications. 4. Frontend Development: Design and implement front-end interfaces using React.js and/or Angular, ensuring responsive and user-friendly experiences. Proficient in JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Bootstrap, and component-based UI development. 5. Database & Backend Optimization: Develop and optimize database queries, perform data analysis, and support schema-related enhancements. Solid experience with relational databases, SQL query optimization, and Oracle integration. 6. Process Optimization & Production Support: Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to enable agile delivery models. Provide quick turnaround on production bug fixes with rapid identification and resolution. Troubleshoot and debug application issues across multiple environments and technology layers. 7. Mentoring & Knowledge Transfer: Mentor Developer 1 and Developer 2 to effectively perform in their roles; guide and assist team members in technical matters. Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support junior team members. Set FAST goals and provide feedback to mentees. 8. Technical Leadership Support: Assist Lead 1 – Software Engineering in technical design reviews and decisions; begin demonstrating Lead-level capabilities in making technical decisions. Identify problem patterns and improve the technical design of applications/systems. Contribute to application design and architectural discussions. 9. Enterprise Infrastructure Support: Support application deployment, monitoring, and maintenance activities on WebLogic Server and Linux environments. Hands-on experience with Oracle WebLogic Server administration, deployment, and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix commands and server-side support activities. 10. Agile Collaboration: Participate in Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Business, QA, DevOps, Support). Estimate time, effort and resource dependence for own work and others' work. Manage module-level activities and timelines. Configuration: Implement and monitor configuration processes ensuring consistency across environments. Testing: Create, review, and execute unit test cases with comprehensive coverage. Domain Relevance: Develop features with comprehensive understanding of business problems being addressed. Project Management: Manage module-level activities, coordinate with team members, ensure timely delivery. Defect Management: Perform defect RCA and mitigation; implement preventive measures to reduce recurrence. Estimation: Provide accurate time, effort, and resource estimates for own work and others. Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation and perform peer review of others' work. Knowledge Management: Consume and contribute to project-related documents, SharePoint libraries, and training resources. Status Reporting: Report task status in compliance with project standards. Release Management: Execute release processes per defined procedures and quality standards. Design: Develop Low-Level Design for multiple components; contribute to architectural discussions. Mentoring: Mentor junior developers, set goals, and provide constructive feedback. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent. Experience: 5+ years professional experience in Java application development. Proven track record of developing scalable, maintainable, high-quality Java applications. Strong experience with Java core concepts, OOP principles, Struts, and JSP. Proficiency in SQL, database design, and optimization. Advanced JavaScript and client-side programming skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver error-free code. Experience mentoring junior developers. Familiarity with GitHub and modern development tools including GitHub Copilot. Hands-on WebLogic Server experience. Strong Linux/Unix command knowledge. Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills using IDEs. Deep understanding of web standards, application performance optimization, and responsive design. Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and enterprise security practices. Desired Qualifications: Experience with Spring MVC or Spring frameworks; knowledge of modern frontend frameworks (Angular, React); AWS or Azure cloud experience; understanding of microservices architecture; relevant Java or cloud certifications.
