- Develop BSW architecture and ensure its alignment with the overall system requirements, functional safety standards (ISO 26262), and automotive industry standards.
- Ensure efficient and reliable software components for automotive ECUs that meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements.
- Team Leadership and Mentorship:
- Lead and mentor a team of BSW engineers, guiding them on best practices, tools, and techniques for software development in automotive systems.
- Manage team deliverables, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure timely completion of BSW development milestones.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation within the team.
- System Integration & Testing:
- Lead the integration of BSW components into the larger automotive ECU and vehicle system.
- Coordinate and execute software validation, verification, and testing activities for BSW components, ensuring conformance to system requirements and functional specifications.
- Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., Hardware, Application Software, and Vehicle Integration) to address issues and ensure seamless system performance.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, application software developers, and system architects to ensure smooth integration of the BSW layer with hardware and upper software layers.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., suppliers, OEMs) to define and refine BSW requirements, ensuring they meet customer and regulatory needs.
- Automotive Standards and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, and other relevant automotive standards) in all BSW development processes and deliverables.
- Stay updated on evolving industry trends, tools, and standards related to automotive BSW development, and apply this knowledge to improve development processes.
- Problem Solving and Issue Resolution:
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to BSW during the development, integration, and testing phases.
- Proactively address potential bottlenecks, dependencies, and risks that may impact the BSW development lifecycle.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of BSW architecture, design, and implementation to ensure traceability and future maintainability.
- Prepare technical reports, test results, and presentations for internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of progress, challenges, and risks.
