Job Title: Senior/Lead Data Modeler
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Modeler to support the migration of enterprise analytics workloads from on-premises SAS Viya and AutoSys platforms to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Python, Apache Airflow, and BigQuery.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data modeling, data profiling, SQL development, database design, and data migration. This role will partner closely with business, data engineering, and application teams to design scalable, high-quality data solutions supporting enterprise analytics and operational reporting.
Key Responsibilities
·Analyze existing SAS Viya data structures, datasets, and AutoSys workflows.
·Perform data profiling and source-system analysis to understand business rules, data quality, lineage, joins, and transformation logic.
·Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
·Define source-to-target mappings and migration specifications.
·Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, joins, and reconciliation processes.
·Partner with Python and Airflow development teams to transform SAS processes into cloud-native solutions.
·Design scalable BigQuery schemas, logical views, and reusable data structures.
·Document data lineage, metadata, business rules, and data flows.
·Support testing, validation, reconciliation, and production-readiness activities.
·Drive data modeling, governance, and data-quality standards.
Required Qualifications
·7+ years of experience in Data Modeling, Data Architecture, or Data Engineering.
·Strong expertise in relational database design and data modeling methodologies.
·Advanced SQL skills, including joins, aggregations, window functions, and performance tuning.
·Extensive experience with data profiling, data-quality analysis, and data reconciliation.
·Hands-on experience with SAS and SAS Viya environments.
·Strong Python skills for data processing, profiling, and validation.
·Experience with BigQuery or enterprise data warehouse platforms.
·Experience supporting large-scale data migration and modernization initiatives.
·Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
