Role Overview:
This is a high-impact role for a hands on Applied AI leader who thrives at the intersection of advanced data science, GenAI, and business strategy, and is passionate about using AI to make life insurance more accessible, personalized, and efficient.
To design and build next-generation AI systems across the life insurance value chain, including AI-powered sales coaching, automated underwriting, and intelligent decisioning, solving problems such as customer acquisition, risk assessment, cross-sell, persistency, and claims automation using advanced analytics, deep learning, and GenAI.
To collaborate closely with Product, Sales, Marketing, Risk, Underwriting, Actuarial, and Technology teams to build scalable AI solutions that directly impact business growth, efficiency, and customer experience.
Key Focus Areas:
·Drive Analytics & AI-led strategy to solve complex business problems using data, decision science, and GenAI.
·Identify customer and process friction points and propose innovative, AI-driven solutions.
·Architect structured approaches and roadmaps for Analytics & AI use cases.
·Design and develop AI systems and models leveraging both structured and unstructured data (text, voice, images, video).
·Build end-to-end ML / GenAI pipelines — from data ingestion and modeling to deployment and monitoring.
·Partner with business stakeholders (Product, Marketing, Sales, Risk, Underwriting, Customer Service, Actuarial) to deliver measurable business impact.
Qualifications & Competencies:
·A first-principles problem solver who challenges the status quo, thinks creatively, and has a strong bias for action.
·7–10 years of strong hands-on experience in Advanced Analytics, Data Science, Predictive Modelling, and Deep Learning.
·Solid understanding of statistics, machine learning, and model evaluation techniques.
·Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and ML/DL libraries (PyTorch/TensorFlow, scikit-learn, etc.).
·Proven experience with LLMs: prompt engineering, fine-tuning (LoRA/PEFT), RAG, agents, and orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar).
·Experience with NLP, text mining, speech AI (ASR/STT, TTS), and conversational AI pipelines.
·Experience with computer vision and video models, embeddings, and familiarity with transformer-based video architectures (e.g., VideoMAE, TimeSformer, etc.).
·Experience building multimodal systems combining text, voice, vision, and structured data for decisioning.
·Experience deploying AI systems on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP); strong exposure to AWS services (Lambda, S3, SNS, SQS, EC2, RDS, KMS, SageMaker). Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and scalable inference pipelines.
·Experience in Insurance, BFSI, FinTech, or HealthTech preferred.
·Exposure to digital analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, BigQuery) is a plus.
·Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Statistics, Data Science, or related fields from a reputed institute; MBA is a plus.
