About the role
Quince is looking for a Lead Data Scientist (Operations Research) to lead the India-based OR team and build scalable optimisation solutions for supply chain planning. You will drive the science roadmap, develop production-grade optimisation models, and collaborate with global teams to solve complex logistics, transportation, and inventory challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Lead operations research workstreams from problem definition to production deployment.
- Build and optimise models for warehouse routing, transportation, inventory planning, and network optimisation.
- Apply optimisation techniques including LP, MIP, CP, stochastic optimisation, and heuristics.
- Leverage AI/LLMs to accelerate model formulation, experimentation, and optimisation workflows.
- Define OR methodology, mentor data scientists, and establish engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, logistics, and planning teams across global locations.
Requirements:
- 9-12 years of experience in operations research or data science.
- Strong expertise in linear programming (LP), mixed integer programming (MIP), constraint programming (CP), vehicle routing, network flow, stochastic optimisation, and metaheuristics.
- Experience building and deploying production-scale optimisation solutions for supply chain or logistics.
- Proficiency in Python and optimisation frameworks (e. g., Gurobi, OR-Tools, and CPLEX).
- Experience integrating optimisation models into production systems.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and technical communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's or PhD in operations research, industrial engineering, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience leading distributed teams and implementing AI-assisted optimisation workflows.
