About the role
Altimetrik is hiring experienced Network Engineers to join a 24x7 Network Operations Centre, supporting a regulated, high-availability payments platform hosted on AWS.
You will provide technical depth for complex network incidents and changes, operate core AWS networking and Palo Alto Networks solutions, and support less experienced engineers, as part of a rota bridging UK and APAC coverage.
• Strong knowledge of AWS networking: VPC, Subnets, Routing, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect.
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and security appliances.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• AWS-native security and monitoring tools: Network Firewall, GuardDuty, VPC Flow Logs.
• Scripting and automation experience (Python, Ansible, or similar).
• Understanding of hybrid cloud networking and cloud-to-on-premises connectivity.
• Exposure to compliance and governance standards for regulated environments is an advantage.
5–8 years in network engineering, ideally with exposure to cloud-hosted infrastructure in a regulated environment.
Certifications (Desirable)
• AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty / Solutions Architect – Associate
• Palo Alto Networks PCNSE
• Cisco CCNP
• Works confidently under pressure during live incidents, keeping stakeholders informed.
• Comfortable operating on a rota basis.
• Willing to coach and support junior team members.
