Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Material Analyst for its Direct Material Procurement organization in India. This senior individual contributor role leads inventory analysis, drives inventory optimization, and acts as the key business interface for automation and digital transformation programs. The successful candidate will own end-to-end inventory methodology — including safety stock modeling, excess and obsolescence (E&O) analysis, and inventory reduction initiatives — while co-leading cross-functional automation projects in collaboration with IT and business teams.

This role requires deep knowledge of Direct Material Procurement and MRP logic, a strong digital mindset, and hands-on proficiency with Power BI. The analyst will build actionable dashboards for business stakeholders and contribute technical expertise (SQL / Python) to accelerate planning automation across SAP S/4HANA, S&OP, and related systems.

This role will perform the following recurring activities:

  • Inventory Analysis & Optimization: design and maintain safety stock models, lead Excess & Liability(E&L) analysis, develop inventory reduction opportunities.
  • Automation Projects & IT Collaboration: act as primary business interface between Material Procurement and IT teams, lead requirements gathering, drive UAT cycles, and champion manual-work elimination through automated data pipelines.
  • Power BI Dashboard Creation & Business Analytics: build and maintain Power BI dashboards for inventory management, supply risk monitoring, E&L tracking, and executive business reviews.
  • Direct Material Knowledge & Business Process Understanding: apply in-depth MRP logic expertise, partner with Procurement, Product Planning, Finance, and Operations, and support S&OP processes.
  • Identify areas where processes can be streamlined and suggest improvements.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in material planning, inventory management, supply chain analytics, or a related discipline in a high-tech / semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in inventory analysis methodologies: safety stock modeling, E&O / E&L analysis, inventory optimization, and demand-supply reconciliation.
  • Mandatory proficiency in Power BI — ability to build, publish, and maintain production-grade dashboards from scratch, including data modeling (DAX, Power Query).
  • Strong working knowledge of Direct Material procurement and MRP logic (demand netting, lot sizing, safety stock offsets, exception management).
  • Proficiency in SAP ERP (ECC or S/4HANA) for MRP review, PO monitoring, inventory interrogation, and planning data validation.
  • Advanced Excel skills — large datasets, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, scenario modeling.
  • Proven experience leading or co-leading cross-functional automation or digital transformation projects with IT teams.
  • Experience with SQL and/or Python for analytical workflows (preferred).
  • Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA, S&OP platforms, Databricks, or similar enterprise planning and analytics ecosystems (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with UAT planning, defect management, and business system implementation in a supply chain context (preferred).
Key Competencies
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Deep understanding of procurement processes, MRP logic, and supply chain terms.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to present complex data findings to senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and enterprise ERP / planning systems (SAP S/4HANA).
  • Digital mindset: proactively seeks technology-driven solutions, embraces continuous improvement, and champions data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong command of Power BI including DAX and Power Query for production-grade dashboard development.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and deliver results in a fast-paced, globally distributed team environment.
