Lead Python Developer

We are looking for a Lead Python Developer who can take ownership of backend development, design scalable applications, and guide a team of developers. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Python, backend architecture, APIs, databases, and cloud technologies, along with good leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of Python/backend developers.
• Design and develop scalable, high-performance backend applications using Python.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices.
• Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
• Review code and ensure coding standards, performance, and security.
• Work closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root-cause analysis.
• Improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Drive best practices around testing, CI/CD, documentation, and development processes.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Python, OOP, and data structures.
• Experience with Django / Flask / FastAPI.
• Strong experience in REST APIs and Microservices.
• Good knowledge of SQL and databases - PostgreSQL / MySQL.
• Experience with Redis / caching.
• Strong understanding of AWS / Azure / GCP.
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD.
• Good understanding of Git.
• Experience working with Kafka / RabbitMQ is preferred.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in leading/mentoring developers.

Good to Have:

• Kubernetes
• Terraform
• Elasticsearch
• Celery
• GraphQL
• AWS services such as EC2 S3 Lambda, RDS.
• Experience designing highly scalable systems.
• Exposure to AI/ML or GenAI applications.

Leadership Expectations:

• Should be hands-on, not purely a people manager.
• Ability to make technical decisions and drive architecture.
• Mentor junior and senior developers.
• Conduct code reviews and technical discussions.
• Own modules/features from design, development, deployment, and production support.
