Key Responsibilities
Looker Development & Modeling
• Design, develop, and maintain LookML models, Explores, and Views to support business reporting needs.
• Build scalable, reusable, and performant semantic layers for consistent KPI definitions across the business.
• Develop dashboards, looks, and visualizations that deliver actionable insights.
• Implement Looker best practices for data modeling, naming conventions, and project structure.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to integrate Looker with BigQuery datasets and optimize query performance.
• Work with analysts and stakeholders to define data requirements and transformation logic.
• Ensure Looker models align with underlying data warehouse schemas and business rules.
• Manage user roles, permissions, and groups to maintain data security and compliance.
• Monitor Looker performance, query usage, and scheduling of reports.
• Maintain and enhance Looker Git integration for version control and collaborative development.
• Support Looker API integrations with other tools (Slack, Jira, GCP services, etc.).
Collaboration & Enablement
• Act as the subject matter expert for Looker within the organization.
• Train and mentor business users on self-service analytics in Looker.
• Partner with product, finance, operations, and marketing teams to deliver BI solutions that drive decision-making.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 6+ years of experience in BI reporting
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Looker (LookML, dashboarding, data modeling).
• Strong expertise in SQL and BigQuery for data querying and optimization.
• Experience with Looker administration (permissions, scheduling, usage monitoring).
• Understanding of data warehouse design, dimensional modeling, and BI best practices.
• Familiarity with Git for version control in Looker projects.
