Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Directory Services Support Engineer to join our IT team The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and supporting directory services with a strong focus on Azure Active Directory Azure AD and Windows Active Directory Windows AD This role involves ensuring the optimal performance availability and security of our directory services infrastructure
Key Responsibilities
Directory Services Management Manage and maintain Azure AD and Windows AD environments to ensure optimal performance and availability
User and Group Management Oversee user and group management including provisioning deprovisioning and access control
Authentication and Authorization Implement and manage authentication and authorization mechanisms to ensure secure access to resources
Operations Support Provide operational support for directory services including troubleshooting and resolving issues
Configuration and Deployment Configure and deploy directory services components ensuring compliance with company policies and security standards
Performance Monitoring Monitor the performance of directory services and implement improvements as needed
Security Management Implement and manage security measures to protect directory services including encryption access control and monitoring
User Support
Provide support to endusers for directory servicesrelated issues
Assist users with accessing and using directory services
Conduct training sessions and create user guides to help users understand and effectively use directory services solutions
Policy Enforcement Develop and enforce policies related to directory services usage security and compliance
Collaboration Work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of directory services within the organization
Documentation Maintain detailed documentation of directory services configurations policies and procedures
Qualifications
Experience 68 years of experience in directory services support with a focus on Azure AD and Windows AD
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of Azure Active Directory Azure AD and Windows Active Directory Windows AD configuration management and troubleshooting
Proficiency in using Azure AD Connect for synchronization between onpremises AD and Azure AD
Experience with Group Policy management and implementation
Familiarity with identity and access management IAM solutions
Understanding of network protocols and VPN configurations
Experience with performance monitoring and optimization tools
Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell for automation
Understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards eg GDPR HIPAA
Familiarity with multifactor authentication MFA and single signon SSO solutions
Experience with Active Directory Federation Services ADFS and Azure AD B2CB2B
Proficiency in using tools like Azure AD Identity Protection and Azure AD Privileged Identity Management PIM
Knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure and their integration with directory services
Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Entra ID Azure AD Domain Services and Azure AD Application Proxy123
Security Understanding of security best practices for directory services and experience implementing security policies
ProblemSolving Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex technical issues
Communication Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical users
Team Player Ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Certifications Relevant certifications in directory services and cloud technologies are highly preferred including
Microsoft Certified Identity and Access Administrator Associate
Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate
Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Microsoft Certified Security Compliance and Identity Fundamentals
