Translate the 2 -3 year M&E strategy into priorities for the Projects teams in the 1 – 2 year time frame.

Develop the proposals (design, cost and time effort required) for the various projects identified by business.
· Recommend opportunities for the improvements/ expansions to be made to Director M&E.

Track and analyze data/ facts on different aspects of manufacturing/ engineering – energy, throughput, wastage, work flow, efficiencies and productivity across units and use it to determine opportunities for improvements.
· Develop the business case for improvements/ changes based on the insights.

Develop capabilities and skills to deliver the right quality and deliverables – project management expertise, product expertise, engineering expertise, design expertise and use the capabilities to deliver superior value.
· Regularly upgrade the skills of Project teams, acquire additional skill sets if required to maintain edge.

Develop the financial estimate for the various projects being planned and work out effort estimate calculation.

Develop the project plan (for approved projects) – timelines, milestones, resources in consultation with the Unit Head.

Define the specifications, requirements of procurement of materials, technology and services for the project. Establish the criterion for selection, evaluation and review its effectiveness on a regular basis.
· Conduct technical evaluation of the quotes/ offers from suppliers/ vendors and recommend vendors in line with requirements.

Maintain an oversight role for projects being implemented at sites. Offer support and guidance to local teams as per requirements. Track the progress on trials, analsye results and recommend improvements.

Scan the market/ industry to identify new, emerging technology, solutions & approaches, best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
· Evaluate and assess the applicability and use of such technologies in the PVMI context.

Define the metrics, measurement systems for various projects, project purchase activities and track the progress on a regular basis.

Regularly examine the project management skills and its effectiveness on projects being implemented. Implement solutions to enhance the effectiveness of project planning and execution.

Coach Direct reports to enhance technical and managerial effectiveness.
