About the role
-
Manage day-to-day dyeing operations on jigger machines for woven fabrics, ensuring production targets are achieved as per the production plan.
-
Plan and execute dyeing batches based on fabric type, customer requirements, shade specifications, and delivery schedules.
-
Ensure appropriate selection of dyeing methods and process parameters for different fabrics, including cotton, polyester, viscose, blends, and other applicable materials.
-
Monitor machine loading, fabric movement, liquor ratio, temperature, pH, dyeing time, and other critical process parameters.
-
Ensure optimum machine utilization, reduced processing time, and minimum production losses.
-
Coordinate with pretreatment, colour kitchen, laboratory, finishing, and quality teams for smooth process flow.
-
Ensure accurate shade matching and reproducibility of approved laboratory dips and bulk dyeing batches.
-
Monitor shade consistency, levelness, colour fastness, and other required quality parameters.
-
Troubleshoot shade variation, unlevel dyeing, staining, patchiness, barriness, and other dyeing defects.
-
Coordinate with the laboratory and quality teams for shade approvals, corrections, and reprocessing decisions.
-
Establish process controls to minimize shade rejections, re-dyeing, and fabric reprocessing.
-
Ensure correct execution of approved dyeing recipes, dosing sequences, and chemical additions.
-
Monitor dye and chemical consumption against approved standards and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
-
Ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of dyes, auxiliaries, and process chemicals.
-
Work with the colour kitchen and laboratory teams to improve recipe accuracy and batch-to-batch consistency.
