About the role
Job Description
This role supports the Direct Material Planning organization through material planning execution, supply analysis, critical-demand scale-up, dashboard delivery, and system enablement across SAP S/4HANA, S&OP, Oracle, and related planning programs.
The role works closely with Material Planning, Procurement, Product Planning, Analytics, and MRP IT teams to improve planning visibility, streamline business processes, strengthen data quality, accelerate automation, and reduce manual workload.
This role will perform the following recurring activities in support of Material Planning:
• Support demand and supply analysis, MRP validation, inventory review, DSI checks, and PO coverage monitoring.
• Analyze material shortages, supply risks, inventory gaps, forecast changes, and component-level readiness to support planner decision-making.
• Maintain material readiness, supplier response, open PO, supply risk, and action follow-up reports and trackers.
• Support supplier forecast commit tracking and planning-data validation across ERP and planning systems.
• Serve as the business interface between Material Planning and IT teams, especially India IT, for critical-material dashboards and system enhancements.
• Collect, clarify, document, and prioritize business requirements for dashboards, data integration, and planning-system enhancements.
• Support UAT, defect review, issue tracking, and solution validation for dashboards and automation enhancements.
• Develop and maintain operational dashboards, KPI reports, and planning analytics for management reviews and business decisions.
• Work with large datasets from ERP, planning systems, supplier inputs, and business reports to generate clear, actionable insights.
• Identify opportunities to reduce Excel-based manual work, standardize reporting logic, and improve planning-cycle efficiency.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Experience:
• At least 5 years of experience in material planning, supply chain, procurement, operations, business analytics, or a related area.
• Experience working with ERP or planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, MRP, or similar platforms.
• Experience handling large datasets and supporting operational reporting, dashboards, UAT, automation, or system implementation.
• Experience working with global cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Competencies
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-interpretation skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including large-data handling, lookups, pivot tables, and data validation.
• Working knowledge of material planning, MRP validation, inventory analysis, DSI review, PO coverage, and supplier commit tracking.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through on open actions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to translate business requirements into clear system, reporting, or data-enhancement requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with Material Planning, Procurement, Product Planning, Analytics, suppliers, and IT.
• High integrity and a continuous-improvement mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, S&OP, MRP, DSI, inventory management, or material-planning transformation programs.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Databricks, Python, or other analytics and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of semiconductor, storage, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing supply chain operations.
• Experience partnering with IT teams on data integration, dashboard development, UAT, and automation delivery.
