About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute mechanical engineering activities for new product development, installed-base, and VCP projects.
- Develop and evaluate mechanical designs using tolerance analysis, material selection, and design-for-manufacturing considerations.
- Create and modify 3D CAD models, drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Perform engineering analysis, risk assessment, root-cause investigation, and design reviews.
- Plan and execute prototype builds, testing, verification, and design validation activities.
- Apply DFMEA, tolerance analysis, GD&T, and Design for Six Sigma/design control principles as appropriate.
- Work with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, regulatory, systems, and other engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
- Support technical investigations and drive issues to closure using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Ensure designs and engineering documentation comply with applicable quality systems, regulatory requirements, and design-control processes.
- Clearly communicate technical recommendations, risks, trade-offs, and project status to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Approximately 2+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience,
- Hands-on experience with 3D CAD and engineering drawings, preferably Creo or equivalent.
- Good understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical testing.
- Experience with structured problem solving, design reviews, verification, and engineering change processes.
- Experience in medical devices or another regulated industry is preferred.
- Exposure to simulation/CAE, DFSS, reliability engineering, or MBD would be an advantage.
