About the role
We are looking for an experienced Head – Medical Social Work for a reputed healthcare organization.
Location: Pune
Experience: 10–15 years
Qualification: Postgraduate qualification in Social Work / Medical & Psychiatric Social Work / Psychology or a relevant discipline
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Social Work Department and ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
Oversee psychosocial assessment, counselling and individualized support for patients and caregivers across IPD, OPD and outreach services.
Lead patient and family support initiatives, including emotional, social, financial and practical support.
Work closely with doctors, nurses, psychologists and other multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring, training and regular case reviews.
Establish departmental KPIs and drive service quality, clinical governance and continuous improvement.
Manage patient/caregiver feedback, complaints, incidents and service improvement initiatives.
Preferred Exposure: Oncology / Hospice / Cancer Centre / Hospital setting.
