Mobility Expert
- Graduate in any stream with master’s degree in transportation or planning
- Should have 10 years of experience of undertaking mobility planning/ urban transport planning.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assess the available documents such as CDP/ Strategy Plans, City Mobility Plan, Sanitation Plans and review feasibility study etc.
- Review existing status of physical infrastructure and other secondary data.
- Carry out necessary surveys through appointed agencies by Authority, investigations, Situtional Analyis basis.
- Develop comprehensive transportation plans to handle the influx of pilgrims and visitors during the Kumbh Mela days.
- Coordinate with local authorities, transport agencies, and stakeholders to ensure efficient movement of people and vehicles.
- Prepare Plan and Implement traffic control measures to manage vehicular flow and prevent congestion in and around the event venue and key routes.
- Plan and implement pedestrian pathways and crossings to ensure safe and smooth movement of pedestrians.
- Assess and improve infrastructure (roads, bridges, parking areas) to handle the temporary surge in population and vehicular traffic.
- Prepare a Plan for providing temporary facilities such as parking spaces, shuttle services, and rest areas for pilgrims and visitors.
- Prepare a strategy to ensure access routes for emergency vehicles and personnel are clear and well-maintained.
- Guide route planning for pilgrims including dedicated walking corridors, barriers, and exit route mechanisms. Integrate GIS-based route planning, transport simulation models, and real-time traffic forecasting tools into planning.
- Prepare dynamic crowd flow models, based on footfall simulations, to prevent bottlenecks and stampedes.
- Design emergency evacuation strategies and identify high-risk pressure points at ghats, and procession routes.
- Conduct post-event assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of transportation strategies and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop recommendations and strategies for future events based on lessons learned and feedback from stakeholders.
- Any other work assigned by the Team Leader.
